IMM PR site launch

October 5th, 2010

TJ web design is proud to announce the launch of the IMM PR web site. Woohoo!

IMM PR is a Kent public relations company, offering a broad range of public relations services from event management, media relations and copy writing to publications and online PR. Check them out at http://www.imm-pr.com and have a look at the fantastic range of professional services they offer.

We’ve set up their clean and professional looking web site using Wordpress as a content management system and integrated news and blog manager. This allows their own specialist team of copy writers and marketeers to update and refresh their own site content, SEO keywords and descriptions, news and blog articles accordingly, whenever they wish!

This not only cuts on the future costs of asking a web chap to update their content for them, but also makes their own content editable and available to them, any time of the day, allowing them to keep their content, and their informative articles, really fresh and up to date.

Always aiming for the best, we’re looking to update the site in the coming months with more features and improvements, but for version 1.0 we think it looks great!

Portfolio v2

Jamie Gilman portfolio design, version 2

Splat on the back or an ink spill reminiscent to BP?

Team Jamie portfolio v2 was a big splat of personality, aimed at digital agencies to put across some character and creativity. Did it put some agencies off though, with the wacky content and them jokes that were meant to be funny. I fear so, for in one case, a prospective employer stated…

“…I’m not sure, how do I put this, that you would fit in with the role that’s on offer.”

Ah, I scared some people away with this one, maybe it was a bit too expressive, with not enough familiarty of design trends that meant someone could relate to who I was and what I was trying to achieve. I think it made people want to keep the mentalist at arms length.

Lesson learned: don’t try overly hard to impress. I did like some of the patterns, splats and colours used though.
